After SINGH IS KINNG, GOLMAAL RETURNS is the next money spinner in the offering

Posted by adminpower

What can 150 seconds do? Well, a lot if adequately utilized. This is what was truly inferred the moment promos of GOLMAAL RETURNS started hitting the screen. Directed by Rohit Shetty, this sequel of GOLMAAL is a powerhouse entertainer in the offering and after watching an array of promos in the weeks gone by, one can confidently declare that the film is a guaranteed SUPERHIT in the pipeline.

The film is an unabashed entertainer in the offering and promises to pack a lot with the arrival of the original team (sans Sharman Joshi who is replaced by Shreyas Talpade). Together, Ajay Devgan. Arshad Warsi, Tussha Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade along with Kareena Kapoor, Celina Jaitley, Amrita Arora and Anjana Sukhani have fun unlimited as they set the frames on fire with their cool antics.

Watch Ajay Devgan arriving on two cars (he arrived on two bikes in GOLMAAL and earlier PHOOL AUR KAANTE) and Arshad Warsi getting the cool dude act right while performing bike stunts and other antics. However, the cake is taken by Tusshar Kapoor who not just takes his ‘goonga’ act to the next level but also joins the bandwagon of making a cool bike entry by standing on the moving vehicle in pursuit of Anjana Sukhani.

Rohit Shetty projects have always been full on masala affair, whether ZAMEEN, GOLMAAL or SUNDAY but GOLMAAL RETURNS appears to be the biggest and most chilled out of the lot. A ‘masala mix’ in the offering, it comes with the kind of vibes which SINGH IS KINNG came with as far as being a ‘movie for the masses’.

A sure shot success at the box office, it deserves to be released at a huge print count (at least 800 just in India) to encash on the Diwali festive season. Promising to be the biggest ever success of the career of Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgan, GOLMAAL RETURNS has all in it to enter the 60 crores club!

The film is releasing on 29th October all over.

First look of YUURAAJ is out and while reactions from the industry as well as the common man are still awaited, those associated with the film are ecstatic to say the least. This is what they have to say about the music which is expected to hit the stands soon:

Salman Khan - “When Rahman and Subhashji come together, they give you the best music. The music of Yuvvraaj is outstanding. Its very soulful, peaceful and carries a sweetness of its own with powerful lyrical value.”

A. Rahman - “Subhash Ghai is very different from other directors. He has really worked hard on the visuals. They look really colourful and really romantic. It’s almost treated in a musical way where it’s more realistic than just background music.”

“KIDNAP an edge-of-the-seat thriller” - SANJAY DUTT

Posted by adminpower

[Interview by Joginder Tuteja]

Sanjay Dutt sees KIDNAP as his first release of 2008. Pitted against Imran Khan in the film, KIDNAP is a project that has continued to excite him over the months. Sanju baba talks:

What attracted you to ‘Kidnap’?
The moment Sanjay (Gadhvi) narrated the first line of the film, I knew I had to do it. It’s something I haven’t done in all these years. There was a sense of identification with the character - a father who deeply and immensely cares for his daughter and will go to any extent for her safety and happiness.

What was Sanjay Gadhvi like as a director?
He’s tremendous. Sanjay (Gadhvi) is very focused and he knows what he wants. He is very clear in his vision and has the knack of getting the best out his actors.

Did it help that he was the maker of the ‘Dhoom’ series?
To be honest I had not seen ‘Dhoom 1′ or ‘Dhoom 2′, except their promos when he approached me. I believed in the subject and in him and decided to do it.

Tell us more about ‘Kidnap’?
My producers, director and co-actors went through a lot of anxiety during the shoot of ‘Kidnap’ because of my trial. But all’s well that ends well. I am happy the film is complete, ready and looking good. It is my first release in 2008. I play a father to Sonia (Minissha Lamba) who is kidnapped by Kabir (Imran Khan). It’s an edge-of-the-seat thriller, which everyone is bound to enjoy. It has some great action and emotion and has been well written and directed. I hope my audience goes out and watches it.

Was it difficult playing a father?
No, why should it be? I have played father to Hrithik Roshan earlier.

You mentioned at the press conference that ‘Kidnap’ is very close to you, as you identify very closely with the character of Vikrant Raina!
I could relate to the father in the film. I love my daughter Trishala immensely and during the making of this film I kept thinking about what I would do or how I would react if Trishala ever got kidnapped. There was a lot of real-life emotion that came into my character in the film.

Who will ‘Kidnap’ appeal to?
I think the beauty of ‘Kidnap’ lies in the fact that besides being an engaging thriller cum drama it concurrently captures the softer emotions and relationships - father-daughter, husband-wife, girl-boy. It’s a thriller with a heart, and on the whole, an entertaining commercial product, which will appeal to everyone. Also, it has Imran Khan who has become very popular after ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’.

How was it to work with the industry’s hottest youngster, Imran Khan?
We got along well. He’s a humble, conscientious and hardworking boy. He’s into his craft. He’ll go a long way and I hope and pray that success doesn’t change him.

Anything else you can recount during the shoot of ‘Kidnap’?
I enjoyed the action. It had my adrenaline rushing. I felt a teenager again! (Smiles)

Which are your forthcoming films?
‘EMI’, ‘Aladdin’, ‘Blue’ and ‘Munnabhai 3′. I am starting my own production house next year and hope to make good films.

What do you cherish the most in life?
The fact that I was born to great parents and have a great set of fans, friends and well-wishers.

What do you regret the most?
The days when I was into drugs and my time in jail. But that was destiny…..
